On Monday, I went to the Food Safe course that I had planned to go to on Sunday. It turned out to be as easy as expected (95% pass rate), but not as boring as expected (the teacher was actually funny :D). Since it filled most of the day, I didn't really do anything else.
I went to chinatown on Tuesday (Canada's biggest) and to a near nature reserve on Wednesday. Once I get Dropbox working, you'll get those photos (Post your E-Mail in a Comment/Send me an E-Mail to jonas.k.jk@googlemail.com to get them asap).
What kept me busy for the rest of the week were my tries to get an accommodation in Whistler...
I had 2 main sources of possibilities:
1. The Pique: The local weekly newspaper in Whistler, that has an classifieds section for long term rentals that can be seen online. About 4 postings from the whole last month in my desired area and price-range. Sadly, I could either not reach them albeit trying repeatedly (mailbox) or they were already occupied.
2. Source: Craigslist.org, an online webpage with at least 2 postings/day for room rentals between 400 and 600 $. Sadly, most of these were either only available in March or too far away to stay there without an own car. Additionally, some of my contacts turned out to be hollow posts (I hate trolls! :-/). One part of these just didn't answer, another could only be identified when comparing responses from different postings (exactly same response and life story, just with different names, occupations, but the same number from UK that I should call).
So, I had 3 really promising contacts from craigslist and tried to set up a meeting this week. However, neither of the 3 responded from Thursday to Saturday and I was nearly giving up hope when I got a positive response today (Sunday), as predicted by a horoscope I had read in the weekly paper (A big step on Sunday, and a big chance on Wednesday).
Tomorrow, I'm actually going to Whistler, I booked an Hostel for a few days until the room I'm renting is free, everything seems clear to strike.
Let's see what the great chance on Wednesday is :D
PS: Don't forget E-Mails for Dropbox-Pictures
